              Hi! I'm Isa Gutierrez, a Colombian/Argentinian actor based in LA. I'm a person who finds art everywhere and in everyone. I'm a moon gazer and a words lover. Life finds me through poetry, dances, music and deep emotions to fill my body and soul.

 

              I found an outlet for my artistic voice from an early age. Since I’m 5 years old I started acting in musicals and theatre plays in Cartagena, Colombia. My acting training began at the “Instituto Universitario de Bellas Artes y Ciencias de Bolivar” where I learned the bases of this beautiful craft. Then, my life changed completely when in 2019 I moved to the U.S to  continued this amazing journey. I graduated from The New York Film Academy with a Bachelor in Acting for Film.

 

              During this time I played diverse characters in film and theatre. But there is one character that I fell in love with; Babe from "Crimes of the Heart" by Beth Henley.  She taught me that there is no limits to being ourselves even in the worst circumstances. 

In addition, I was part of the cast for "The Brothers Grimm Spectaculathon", in which my creativity was tested. I was playing 9 characters in the play, which meant 9 different body expression, 9 different voices, and 9 different personalities. It was definitely a challenge but this play refreshed my will to play on stage and being whoever I want to be.

             I had the pleasure of working on several projects including “True Love” directed by Andres Bernal, “The Wrong Hole”  directed by Julio Ramos and the recently premiered Web series available in YouTube “Apartment 30.”

 

             I’m constantly looking for new challenges and opportunities to expand my artistic realm and the Short film “ True Love” is an example of that. I am the writer, co-producer and star actor of this short film that made part of the official selection of The California Women’s Film Festival and will premiere next March in Arizona for The Worldwide Women Film Festival.

 

             I also had the chance to be part of the judging committee of the FOLCS Int’l Short Film Competition in New York. From which I gained valuable experience for my future projects and Film festival journey.

 

             And as a lover of theatre and movement expression, I make part of the NYFA Commedia del’ Arte Troupe as well as the “After Before Commedia” theatre group in which I expand the comedic possibilities in a fun and improvisational group work.
